15" Steiff Rod Bear,
with the rare Elephant button.
Sealing wax (gutta percha) nose, thinning apricot mohair overall, pads very good.
Rod bears were only offered by Steiff between 1904-1905. All jointed with rods.
These bears were made to look like real bears from sketches done at the zoo by Richard Steiff.
They have realistically long bear- like arms and curved paws enabling them to stand on all fours.-
